Developmental Coordination Disorder:

Developmental Coordination Disorder is somewhat similar to Dyspraxia and it really refers to the gross motor actions. The same process as Dyspraxia would be used to look at the root of the problem and key functional activities and occurrences that are being affected. We would work to redevelop or over develop the necessary skills and muscles to be able to increase the level of comfort, retrain the behaviour and habit and make the process automated. It must be flagged that it takes three months from a neural plasticity perspective to change a habit and it takes another three months to make that process automated. This gives a bit of a guide in terms of the typical number of sessions that are really needed to make significant progress with a child.
